Zhao, Min
The President of MCCCA and the Leader of Music Band. Ph.D. Started learning music and music instruments from as young as 11 years old. With a proper understanding on music, and a quick approach to learn, he was able to play six different kinds instruments ranging from Di Zi, Er hu, Ban Hu, Yang Qin, Accordion, Violin before 17. He also studied on various theories for music composition and harmony, and produced his first piece of music in around 20 years old. He performed in six provinces of China before coming to Canada. Since 1996, he has performed instruments Di Zi, Er Hu, Yang Qin, Accordion, Hulusi and Bawu in hundreds of performing events, and composed harmony for some famous Chinese folk songs to enhance their artistic effects.
Lei, Xianglian
A member of MCCCA’s Board of Directors, as well as Director General and Director of the School of Art. After graduating with a business degree in Beijing, she moved to Canada with one of the first immigrant waves in the 1980’s. The arts were always a part of her life, having studied dance since high school. During her university years, Xiang Lian was selected by the gymnastics team to compete against top schools in Beijing, and was awarded 2nd prize in the solo high bar and 4th place in the all-purpose categories. Xiang Lian’s passionate nature and leadership capabilities made her a founding member of Ottawa’s Oriental Dance Group in 1988, and then a founding member of MCCCA in 1996. Within the group, her portfolio of experiences also include first generation Director of Dance and Stage Director for the annual MCCCA’s Chinese New Year Gala for 4 consecutive years. She is a high-energy and versatile artist responsible for the creation and direction of many of MCCCA’s most original pieces including children’s dances, modern dances, Chinese sword fighting performances, folk songs ensembles and broadway type pieces. Until present, Xiang Lian is still an active member of MCCCA, together with her 3 children.
Ma, Shiping
A member of MCCCA's Board of Directors and a tenured professor in Biomechanics in the Department of Exercise Science at Concordia University. In his teenage age he was a member of the Little Red Flower Art Troupe in Nanjing China and received vocal and dancing training. He is a Chinese folk song singer. He has involved with organizing all the singing and dancing shows performed by MCCCA in the past ten years and he is also the treasurer of MCCCA and the manager for costumes.
Zhang, Wei
蒙特利尔中华文化艺术中心理事会理事,中心歌队队长。大学本科毕业。12岁开始学习民歌,先后师从小学音乐老师、哈密师范学校声乐老师、西安音乐学院声乐老师和本市著名歌唱家许倩学习声乐。也许是新疆天山的雪水滋润了她的歌喉,她的歌声如同流淌的山泉,清澈晶莹、纯净甜美。在中心的大型晚会上多次表演民歌重唱和独唱。在大学学习时还担任过学生会文艺部副部长,筹划、组织和参加了校内各类文艺活动。
Meng, Jun
蒙特利尔中华文化艺术中心理事会理事,中心大型晚会主持人。大学本科毕业。出生在齐鲁大地,成长在济水之南。2002年来到蒙特利尔,2004年进入蒙特利尔中华文化艺术中心,担任2004年以来历年的大型春节歌舞晚会节目主持人。
